The Primary 5 was formed in March 2003 as a solo project for ex-Soup Dragons/Teenage Fanclub drummer Paul Quinn. Quinn is the main lyricist and vocalist which begs the question – how many other drummers out there are capable of writing and performing such gorgeous pop balladry?

Mark Radcliffe noted that The Primary 5 make “the perfect sun-drenched soundtrack to a Summer that might never happen”.
