Budgie were formed in Cardiff in 1967, although it was 1971 that saw their self-titled debut album released. The band has been described as a cross between Black Sabbath & Rush, and their sound is laden with heavy riffs, screeching guitars and pounding drums. Their songs have been covered by Metallica, Iron Maiden, Soundgarden and Van Halen.
