We Came In Peace - LL Cosmonaut
The music could be described as kalaedeoscopic, irreverant, melodic LAZER POP. From the fuzzed-out chug of it's opening bars to the weeping strings of the record's finale you will experience the dizzying animation of a human being truly lost in their own fragile consciousness. LL COSMONAUT marries the harmonic adventurousness of Todd Rundgren with the meandering melodic sensibilities of the The Zombies and Super Furry Animals over a dense backdrop of squelching synthesizers, orchestras and out of control studio effects owing much to the sonic discoveries of the likes of Olivia Tremor Control and Stereolab.
Cry Baby (Radio Edit) - Medicine 8
For those of you unfamiliar with Medicine 8 they are a maverick alt Acid House duo who have been doing their own thing from the off.
They are now making their much anticipated and long awaited return with new music on their new label Trashmouth Records.
Led Astray - Friction
Brighton-raised Friction is one of only a handful of drum and bass DJs to utilise three decks to mash up his mixes, creating a unique sound. He is regarded as one of the biggest DJs in the drum and bass scene, with an extremely fast rise to success in the last 5 years. Highly regarded for his various mix CDs and releases on labels like Hospital, Tru Playaz and Renegade Hardware. On 10 January 2012, BBC Radio 1 's Zane Lowe made Friction's song "Led Astray" his Hottest Record in the World.
Isobar - The Helmholtz Resonators
The Helmholtz Resonators are inviting you on a journey through time and space where you’ll witness great fallen empires, roaring passion in your heart, untouched galaxies and maybe some unicorn depending on the volume you take. Their new single Isobar is psychedelic anthem that will make the all hair on the back of your neck and back of your back stand up! The galloping bass guides you on this journey while the harmonic chants take you to another planet! Filled with the synth quirkiness that we love the Helmholtz for but with added maturity and more refined making this the best release from the guys to date!
I Wanna Be Me - Bleech
One of London’s best kept secrets, Bleech are made up of sisters Jennifer, Katherine and their school pal Matt. Raised amongst the boozy choruses and power-pop chords of ’90s Britpop, the young trio have carried with them the best their childhood soundtrack had to offer. Lifting the pop sensibilities of the era and mixing it with the riff heavy rock of contemporary bands like The Subways and The Vines, the band take the best of two worlds and combine them in their own very special way.
Bright & Breezy - Day One
Day One are back and are ready to share with you what they describe as their best record yet! Bright & Breezy is the first single to be taken from their third LP, which was recorded with longtime collaborator Mario Caldato Jr in his Los Angeles studio over several weeks in November 2011.
Atonement - Misty's Big Adventure
Misty's Big Adventure are a glorious 8 piece band from Birmingham in the UK, made up of brothers and sisters and twins and saxophones and trumpets and cute, weird dancers who produce the most uplifting, life affirming tunes you will hear since Louie Armstrong played with the Lovin Spoonful.
Formed in 1996 and still going strong, Atonement is taken from their fifth album 'The Family Amusement Centre'.
Begging - Project Alfie
Project Alfie has been billed as one of the most exciting and unique artists going into the New Year. His distinctive image, heavily influenced by the idiosyncratic style of 60s cinema, coupled with an exceptional blend of cinematic soul and hip-hop, makes Project Alfie an incomparable act. The epic, emotionally wrought track ‘Beggin’’ was released on the Universal Compilation R&B Collection 2012 and Project Alfie was the only unsigned act to be featured on the album.
Multiplayer - The Voluntary Butler Scheme
"Infectious and charming, one-man-band Rob Jones is like a mix of Badly Drawn Boy and Brian Wilson's more acid-fried work." - Q
