RTS Craft and Design Awards 2009/2010
Big congratulations to John Lunn, David Arnold and Michael Price who were all winners at this year’s Craft and Design Awards.
John Lunn took home Best Original Score for his work in Going Postal with the RTS stating “Exceptional... The composer demonstrated a cleverness and guile working to an unbelievably tight budget to create this classy score that was packed with ideas and sounded fully high end. Brilliant!”
David Arnold and Michael Price took home Best Original Title Music for BBC’s Sherlock (also nominated for Original Score), the RTS stated “The Jury felt that the distinctive and stylish use of vocals coupled with a boldness in style would make you want to sit up and watch the show.”
Sherlock also took home Best Picture Enhancement and Best Tape and Film Editing In A Drama on the night.
Sherlock has proved a hit with audiences in the US, achieving record ratings on US cable channel PBS.
Congratulations also to Edmund Butt whose work in BBC’s Garrow’s Law was nominated for Best Original Score, in the end this award went to David Arnold and Michael Price for Sherlock.
BTA Awards
Congratulations to Jonathan Goldstein who was nominated for a BTAA 2010 Craft Award for Best Original Music for his score for the Weetabix 'Steeplechase' campaign.
'Steeplechase' features a 40 piece orchestra and the voice of Michael Gambon as a horse.
