Bio

The Vagaband are an 8-piece based in Norfolk, UK. Among the instruments they play are fiddle, mandolin, pedal-steel guitar, clarinet, fl¸gelhorn, banjo, squeezebox and piano. They play original song-based roots music; a soulful mix between americana, blues, jazz and rock.

Since 2010, The Vagaband have amassed a respectful following across the UK festival scene and beyond. Appearances include Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Bestival, Camp Bestival, Croissant Neuf & Maverick Festival (headline spot two years running).

The Vagabandís strength as a live force is the result of a well-oiled touring act who cut their teeth during early years as a street band. While able to record quality-produced albums, onstage the bandís personality comes to the fore.

The songs of JosÈ McGill and Greg Cook take the listener from Beatlesí inspired ragtime, through the horn-driven soundtrack of New Orleans and on to the open landscape of reflective Americana. There is however an underlying Celtic-Britishness everpresent to the sound.
