At Bucks and BDi Music we represent a talented roster of award winning composers and writers who specialise in bespoke writing for Advertising, Film and TV. 

From the seminal film scores of David Arnold, to electronic duo’s Lank&Tank’s award-winning work with BT Sport – we have the breadth and experience to deliver bespoke briefs on tight deadlines and within budget. 

Alongside established Film/TV composers we have a pool of writers who come from an artist background who have chart success, released albums on leading labels and enjoy airplay and support from BBC Radio 1, Beats 1, BBC6Music, Spotify etc. For example, if you are looking for a Grime track why not commission The Heavytrackerz who write and produce with the likes of Stormzy, Wiley, Lethal Bizzle etc. Or looking for a song that sums up that summer festival? Have the bands that recently played Glastonbury, Latitude, Bestival write the track for you.  

We are also able to offer re-records and bespoke arrangements of our commercial tracks, which can be tailored to individual briefs as needed.

Our Composers

Erland Cooper

Erland Cooper has scored several award-winning TV / Ad / Film / Gaming spots, including Alzheimer’s Research UK (2016), Marie Curie Daffodil campaign, which won two British Arrow Awards, and Channel 4 ‘Dates’ which achieved a Royal Television Society award. He also collaborates with Simon Tong (Damon Albarn / The Verve) under the alias ‘Carnival Music’. Together, the pair scored motion picture ‘Rufus’ (2013) which was twice nominated for a Canadian Screen Award.

Outside of his bespoke work, Erland has toured extensively as acclaimed folk band 'The Magnetic North' which blends orchestral arrangements, rock and electronica. Simon also works extensively with Damon Albarn, with whom he co-wrote ‘All Alone’ which featured on video game ‘Dirt 3’.

Lank & Tank

Lank & Tank have been commissioned on a number of TV and Advertising spots including BT Sport, Turkish Airlines, Littlewoods, Volvo, Benecol and Lenovo

Commercially, Lank & Tank are known as electronic duo One Bit, and their status as producers, writers and multi-instrumentalists has won them a reputation for turning out fresh and exciting sounding tracks – particularly contemporary electronic and quirky instrumental genres. 

The producer-writer duo are based in their own studio; complete with recording studio and large live room. 

Speaking about working with Lank & Tank, BT Sport Music said: “They executed the project with professionalism, flair and precision and delivered an overarching theme tune that resonates perfectly with all the punch, colour and vivacity of our new look channels.”

D*Style Productions

D*Style Productions is a production collective. Together, they have created trailers for Wonder Woman, The Wall, Dr Strange, The Martian, Westworld, Dracula Untold, True Detective, Captain America and many more. They have also scored numerous gaming features and adverts for brands including Puma.

Outside of bespoke trailers, adverts and gaming productions, the collective have released a number of hit records across reputable underground imprints such as D*Style Recordings, Break Beat Kaos, Digital Soundboy, Hench Records and V Recordings to name a few.

Alex Catt

Fusing house, garage, bass and a myriad of urban flavours into his sound, Alex Catt (commercially known as Alex Session) is one of dance music’s rising stars. He has also been busy on the bespoke scene, having scored campaigns for McDonalds, Vitamin Water, Stimoral and True Sport.

Whilst Alex’s solo project focuses on the hard electronic, gritty styles, his spots for Vitamin Water and McDonalds show Katt’s capabilities in more poppy, acoustic genres as well.

Mat Davidson

After graduating from the National Film & Television School, Mat has spent the last decade writing music for feature films, documentaries & ad campaigns broadcast on BBC, PBS, Sky, Channel 4National Geographic etc. 

As well as scoring for advertising campaigns for AutotraderMcDonalds and Yellow Pages, his relationship with Olly Lambert saw him turn around scores in under a day for BBC’s Newsnight, as well as score ‘The Family’ (Channel 4), and the BAFTA and EMMY award winning ‘Syria: Across the Lines’. 

More recently Mat has written music for Sky 1 drama “Mr Understood”, and Channel 4’s BAFTA nominated series Educating the East End. He also provided an emotive underscore for Cancer Research’s 2016 Christmas campaign: ‘Right Now’.

Alex Morris

Alex Morris a producer and score composer who has composed original content for spots including BBC 4 ‘The Story of Maths’, Universal Pictures’ ‘Skeleton Key Trailer’ and ‘Brit Cops Frontline Crime’. Morris has also composed for Sky Sports, MTV, Vice, National Geographic and ITV.

Recently, Morris has been working as the producer for warped beats specialist, GAIKA, whom he has also produced sound design for.

Sheridan Tongue / IN-IS

BAFTA-nominated composer Sheridan Tongue is best-known for working on BAFTA award-winning BBC series ‘SPOOKS’ and long-running crime series ‘Silent Witness’ He has also composed the music for the BBC films ‘Magnificent 7’ starring Helena Bonham-Carter, and ‘Summerhill’, which took won two BAFTAs. He has also composed for documentaries including ‘Wounded’ (BBC), ‘Stephen Hawkins Discovery’ and ‘Atlas 4D’ (Discovery). His work for BBC series ‘Wonders of the Universe’ also took home an RTS award.

Stuart Earl

Stuart Earl is a composer known for his work in TV Drama, Theatre and Film. TV Drama highlights include his Ivor Novello nominated score for ‘And Then There Were None’ and the International Emmy Award winning ‘Black Mirror’. He has most recently composed the music for ‘Rillington Place’, a BBC drama starring Tim Roth and Samantha Morton.

Jack C Arnold

Jack C Arnold is a film, television and theatre composer who works from his studio in North London; recently scoring ‘The Level’ for ITV1 and ‘Striking Out’ for RTÉ. He was nominated for an RTS award for his score for ‘Holy Flying Circus’ for BBC4; other recent work include ‘This Is England '86’ and ‘The Beckoning Silence’ – both for C4. He has recently completed BBC / Weinstein Co. ‘War and Peace’ as music consultant, arranger and composer of the in-picture music.

Nigel Hess

Nigel Hess works extensively as a composer for TV, theatre, film and the concert hall. He has composed music for over twenty Royal Shakespeare Company productions and received the New York Drama Desk Award for Much Ado and Cyrano de Bergerac on Broadway.

TV scores have included A Woman Of Substance, Vanity Fair, Just William, Campion, Wycliffe and New Tricks, and Hess received the Ivor Novello award twice for Best TV Theme (Hetty Wainthropp Investigates and Testament).

Nigel was honoured to be asked to arrange and direct the music for Her Majesty the Queen’s private 90th birthday celebration at Windsor Castle

Dave Arch

Dave Arch is a British pianist, conductor, arranger and composer. His work covers a broad spectrum of the music business, from albums, films and commercials, through to television and live work. He is best known as the Musical Director for BBC Television’s Strictly Come Dancing, a role he has had since 2006 and which in 2014, he and the rest of the production team won a collective special BAFTA Craft award. As a keyboardist Dave has worked on pictures including ‘The Imitation Game’ and ‘Intersteallar’. As a composer he wrote the theme music to ‘GMTV’ and composed the music for award winning ‘Lost Property’. He wrote the logos for London Weekend Television and arranged music for commercials including ‘British Airways Island’.

Michael Price

Michael Price is one of the UK’s most sought after composers. He has recently won a Royal Television Society Award plus BAFTA and 2 EMMY nominations for the critically acclaimed BBC series Sherlock, which he scores with David Arnold.

Justin Nicholls

Justin Nicholls has scored some of the most notable and unique award-winning TV series over the past ten years, most recently the BAFTA winning One Born Every Minute, Supervet, Grand Designs and 24 Hours In Police Custody.  

He has also won BAFTA awards for his work on The Force, The National Trust. Other award winners include Russian Godfathers (Grierson Award) and Numberjacks (RTS winner 2007 & 2008).

As a songwriter, his work has been featured in such movies as Chris Nolan’s Memento and American network series’ such as Roadrules and Making the Band.

David Arnold.

One of Britain's greatest masters of film music, David Arnold is best known for scoring five James Bond movies, Independence Day and the music for the award winning BBC series Sherlock.

Jennie Muskett

Jennie Muskett is a British Emmy winning and Bafta nominated Film and TV composer who has written scores for MiramaxParamountDisneyIMAX, the BBC and more.

She has been awarded 2 BAFTA nominations for her scores for Spooks, for which she also composed the theme, and received two Golden Globe nominations for mini-series The State Within.

In TV, she has also scored the BBC’s Miss Austen Regrets and Compulsion, whilst in film she made her mark with scores for Robinson Crusoe, Material Girls and The Prince And Me.

In 2017, Jennie also started work on Music War and Love – an upcoming US drama about Polish life before and after WW2.

Richard G. Mitchell

Richard G Mitchell is an English composer of music for Film and Television. Film projects Mitchell has worked on include full scores to Moby DickTo Kill A King, Tempesta, A Good Woman and Seawolf. He also composed a country based score for Grand Theft Parsons, involving a score and song collaboration with Phil Collins.

Richard has been nominated for numerous awards, winning an Ivor Novello for the film Trial By Fire, the Royal Television Society Award for BBC period drama The Tenant of Windfell Hall, the Best Score at the New York Film Festival for Rush Hour & Polish Academy Award Nomination for the Günter Grass movie The Call Of The Toad.

Richard has also composed projects for the Tate Gallery, Opening Ceremony for FIFA's Euro 96 Football Championship and theatre projects for Ousama and Hidden In The Sand.

Charlotte Hatherley

Charlotte Hatherley is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer. 

She has released 3 solo albums: Grey Will Fade, The Deep Blue and New Worlds and has also performed in various bands, most notably Ash and Bat For Lashes.

Charlotte was commissioned to compose the score for The Last Man, a dystopian sci-fi short directed by designer and FX artist Gavin Rothery (Moon) and starring Ben Wheatley favourite Richard Glover (Sightseers, A Field In England). 

The film is almost completely free of dialogue; this leaves space for Hatherley’s expressive, expansive soundtrack which beautifully complements Rothery’s direction and Glover’s raw and emotional performance.

Following her work on The Last Man, Charlotte scored the acclaimed NHS-themed London stage play This May Hurt A Bit (directed by Max Stafford-Clark) and ventured into the world of advertising, with slick soundtracks for transformative body architect Lucy McRae and fashion designer Jayne Pierson.

Jim Meacock

As a composed, Jim Meacock is most famous for his landmark score to RTS-nominated BBC TV series The Planets. In the world of TV he also created title music for BBC’s On SideThe Daily PoliticsThis Week, BBC Sports Personality of the Year and the BBC BAFTA Tribute programmes.

In the world of advertising, he has scored commercials for CifJeep, Barefoot Atlas, Christian Aid and Eagle Star.

Other work includes the Tiger Aspect documentary Virtual History: Secret Plot to Kill Hitler , which won an RTS Award in 2005; the controversial BBC1 drama documentary The Virgin Mary; A Queen’s Kingdom a 2 hour BBC special documentary to mark Golden Jubilee year. Jim has also scored a string of films including Recorded Delivery and S Club:Seeing Double, and also provided the music for Lynda La Plante’s ITV1 drama The Commander.
